Hi, everyone to my first blog post! Today was also the first day of my "Medical Copyediting" course—my first elective to truly becoming a scientific editor—through the University of Chicago Graham School. In the next five weeks we will cover subjects like the levels of manuscript editing, grammar and punctuation, preferred word choice in medical manuscripts, and medical nomenclature. I am looking forward to learning the ins and outs of being a scientific manuscript editor and gaining more knowledge and experience!

Her eyes are very red and watery from working with rats, as mentioned in the caption.](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/187fec_b29c0fe85dcc47c3aa7c744f0f334786~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_147,h_141,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,blur_2,enc_auto/187fec_b29c0fe85dcc47c3aa7c744f0f334786~mv2.jpg)
